The cottage was fantastic and is in the perfect place to stay for Windermere and Coniston Water (lots of boat trips) and even the beaches near Haverigg.
My daughter loved having a “real” piano to play again in the evenings.

Thank you for a great time in your cottage.
We spent a very nice week in your cottage. We have done some fantastic hikes in a breathtaking landscape. It´s definitely not the last time we`ll visit the lakes.
— Jürgen u. Susanne Fink , 27 Apr 2023

Our third time here and we will certainly be back. We visited Sizergh Castle, Levens Hall and Blackwell (arts and crafts) House and had two beautiful sunny days sitting in the beautiful garden. — Sue and Tony Woods, Essex, 10 Jun 2022

A fine cottage with spectacular views across the lakes. We had wonderful walks in the Rusland valley and up above Brantwood and Coniston. A special place indeed. Thank you. — Andy and walking friends, from Bradford, Nottingham, Sheffield, Chester, 29 May 2022
Thank you so much for one of our best times in life at your lovely cottage! We enjoyed everything, had luck with the weather for wonderful walks and hiking tours up the Old Man and Scafell Pike. Happy to take many unforgettable impressions with us back home. We'll be back sometime! — Jens Christopherson and family, Germany, 22 Apr 2022
This cottage is so pretty and there are amazing views looking out of the windows - even the toilet window! We were able to do walks directly from the cottage up through the woods for more views over Coniston. The weather was mixed so the games room was a wonderful asset and we spent many fun times in there. The cottage is remote so we walked to one local pub (20-25 minute walk) but drove to some other lovely places - The Manor house at Oxen was particularly nice. We walked up Old Man of Coniston and it was spectacular. The cottage has everything you would ever need, the kitchen is so well equipped, the lounge is really cosy with the log burner and the bedrooms are all good sizes. The cottage has so much history with the low ceilings and beams but it has been sympathetically modernised with home comforts that made it very warm and cosy. We really loved staying here and Hilary the owner was so helpful.
— Weller family, 23 Nov 2021
Absolutely lovely cottage ( even though I did hit my head on the beams more than once) Great size, everything you need, massive lovely garden. Peaceful location. A 1 mile walk down country lane to pub, Red Lion - which I would recommend for good pub food. Only thing I didn’t find was a hairdryer & I had left mine at home. — Darren Northen, 17 Sep 2021
A peaceful few days in a beautiful place. Wonderful well stocked garden with fantastic views. Enjoyed walking, perfect location away from busy lakes. Found a great eatery in the Manor House, Oxen Park a short drive away. We will be back. — Dawsons, Stockton on Tees, 06 Sep 2021

Last minute booking but what a great find! Great cottage and fabulous garden, so relaxing. Lots of things to do and we hope to return. — Brooks and Taylor families, 06 Jul 2018
This place is magical. Arrived frazzled, and after two days in this beautiful, calm, healing place, felt totally different. We are here during the "worst week of weather this winter" house warm and cosy, log burner working beautifully, cold outside but blue cloudless skies for days. The robins hopping around asking for food on the ground, the tits in the azalea demolishing the suet squares and immediately alighting on the shiny new bird feeder. Whole experience summed up in seeing the flash of red, forked tail, angled wings of a red kite on the road back here from Greenodd. Thank you. — Janice, Susi and Bran the dog, Sheffield, 28 Feb 2018
The cottage has been great for us, lots of space and plenty of games and books to occupy us. We got to see the stars on the last night. Sophia (3) loved playing in the stream and shelter behind the cottage and enjoyed seeing the geese and pigs close up at the farm at the bottom of the lane. — Alison Whiles, family Wedst Bridgeford, 27 Oct 2017
Fabulous cottage in a fabulous location. A great place to meet our friends. We had some lovely days out and the cottage is perfect for coming back to after a long days walk. The kitchen is excellently equipped, meaning that we ate in each night. The gardens are a delight, even found a slow worm in the compost! We played lots of games outside too. Thank you very much for such a wonderful accommodation. — Silvera and Wheeler families. Northumberland and Carmarthanshire, 07 Jul 2017

What a lovely place, in the middle of stunning countryside. Even with the mist and rain of these days we've had a wonderful joint birthday celebration and hope to visit again in spring/summer. — Angela, Rory & friends, 09 Jan 2012

We've had a lovely weekend celebrating a 60th birthday. The cottage is very well equipped and the garden is spectacular. We had some lovely walks and the dogs have been spoiled with the forest and stream. — Gray, Kennish, Chew families, 23 Aug 2011
We've had a lovely week at your wonderful cottage. It has evrthing, the garden is beautiful, the children enjoyed all the butterflies. We enjoyed every minute. Thank you. — Haddley Family, 19 Aug 2011
We've just arrived back in "super-flat" Suffolk after a great week at the cottage. It is everything and much more that you would want for a holiday retreat. Near enough and yet far enough from the madness and also a short drive into Coniston and the calf stretching walk up the "Old Man". A truly wonderful week, in a wonderful setting...move over Mr Schwarzenegger; "We'll be back". — Steve Lamb, 05 Aug 2011
We had a wonderful time at the cottage. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to eat lots of our meals outside in the beautiful garden and enjoy the lovely view. The cottage was ideal for us and we were impressed with how well equipped it was, anything we needed we found. Many thanks for the hire of your cottage and hopefully we will have a chance to stay there again.

Thank you so much for letting us have the use of your wonderful holiday home. I must tell you that we enjoyed every second of our stay. From your garden to the cottage, nothing could be faulted. The location was fantastic and the views spectacular. We will be regular visitors for sure.

We just loved the cottage which we booked to coincide with a family birthday. Once we had arrived we didn't use the cars again, there were so many good walks which started from Nibthwaite. In the evening we were torn between watching the sunset from the patio in the lovely gardens and the warm glow of the woodburning stove. No need to go out when everything in the cottage is so cosy - it easily accomodated eight and seemed to encourage evenings of playing silly games after dinner in the excellent and spacious kitchen. If we really had to,
we could have a moonlit walk to the local pub about twenty minutes away. A wonderful spot and we'll be coming back.

We were very fortunate to spend a fabulous few days at Nibthwaite Grange Cottage in April. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed evenings sitting in the garden, taking in the views and savour the peace and quiet. Situated an easy fifteen minute walk from the nearest pub (great views from garden, good pub food and local ale), the cottage is beautifully cosy, the kitchen / diner perfect for family meals and the super king bed is one of the best I have ever slept on! We found some buggy friendly walks thanks to the info pack and sampled some of the best food and ale in Coniston thanks to the recommendations.
We will definitely be back, in fact we cant wait to book another week later in the summer! Emma, Stephen and Baby Lola (Brixton, London)

The situation is perfect and the garden is the just the best place to relax with so many different places to sit and enjoy depending on the time of day and where the sun is. The woods are so handy for a lovely walk. The cottage itself is very cosy - warm, comfortable and homely but has all mod cons - dishwasher etc. It's just the place for a family break/holiday and is private without being isolated.............and that's just for starters! — Christine Williams, 12 May 2011
